Lotto Hot Numbers This Week
Kia ora! Every week I get asked the same thing: "Mia, which numbers are hot right now?" So let me answer it properly — what hot means in my book, and how I use it when I build your 30 lines.
What I call a hot number
A hot number is simply one that has appeared more often than average across the full 1,472-draw NZ Lotto archive. With 40 balls and 6 drawn each time, the average ball shows up roughly once every seven draws. Anything clearly above that is running hot; anything well below is running cold.
Where to see the current list
The leaders change every single draw, so I never paste a stale list in an article. Instead, the Hot & Cold section on my Lotto page shows the live picture — the balls pulling above average right now, and the ones sitting quiet. Check it there after each draw for the freshest read.
How I use hot and cold in your 30 lines
In my 30 lines, the hot style leans on the frequent flyers, the cold style goes hunting for the quiet ones, and the balanced style mixes both so every line feels different. Each style exists so you can pick the flavour you enjoy — not because any of them has an edge. The stats are for making picking fun and intentional, never for pretending I know what's coming.
The honest bit
Hot numbers are not "due" to keep coming, and cold numbers are not "owed" a turn. Every draw starts fresh. I track all of it because knowing the real frequencies beats guessing from memory — and because a ticket picked with your eyes open is more fun than one picked on a myth.
