Powerball Rolls to $18 Million — Draw 2614 in Review
Saturday night's draw 2614 pushed Powerball up to $18 million — and for the eighth time in a row, nobody matched all six numbers plus the Powerball.
Here's the full picture from the night, the numbers, and what's waiting on Wednesday.
The Saturday 22 August result
- Powerball: not won — $18 million rolls to Wednesday 26 August
- Lotto Division 1: 4 winners, each taking $250,000 (the $1M prize pool split four ways)
- Strike Division 1: $400,000 not won
- Total winners: 342,156 tickets won something on the night
The winning main numbers were 3, 14, 20, 22, 37 and 40, with Powerball 5.
How the rollover built up
Powerball has now rolled over eight times since 29 July:
| Draw | Date | Powerball prize | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2607 | 29 Jul | $4M | not won |
| 2608 | 1 Aug | $5M | not won |
| 2609 | 5 Aug | $6M | not won |
| 2610 | 8 Aug | $8M | not won |
| 2611 | 12 Aug | $10M | not won |
| 2612 | 15 Aug | $12M | not won |
| 2613 | 19 Aug | $15M | not won |
| 2614 | 22 Aug | $18M | not won |
What happens Wednesday
The $18 million goes into Wednesday 26 August's draw. If it isn't won again, the prize keeps climbing — and the streak moves to nine, tying the longest run of 2026.
Where this sits in 2026
Two longer streaks happened earlier this year:
- May: nine consecutive draws without a Powerball winner (10 May – 30 May), the jackpot building to $25M before draw 2591 paid out $28.2 million to a single ticket.
- July: seven consecutive draws, the prize pool reaching a $35M headline before draw 2606 split $20.1 million two ways.
The honest maths: every ticket has a 1 in 53,737,320 chance of winning Powerball Division 1 today (these draws ran under the old 10-ball pool, where it was 1 in 38,383,800), and each draw is independent — a long rollover doesn't make the next draw any more likely to hit. It does, however, mean more players, bigger pools, and (if you do win) a more life-changing cheque.
My advice stays the same: play what you can comfortably afford, treat it as entertainment, and let the data tell the story — not the hype.
